What should a good manager know first of all

Commonly they are quite attractive and have a lot of great features, but it is just the first view. During the research of different stuff management software programs, I found that its usage has more drawbacks than advantages. There are several reasons why I do not use them.
Reason 1: It is not a freeware soft. That is impracticable to find the free employee management software. Remember that the updates, support and maintenance also require some fee. Most of people just do not pay attention to the price of this kind of software. Pay for the program only in case when you are sure that it will be compensated, otherwise, search for the more appropriate solutions.
